A Taste of Mardi Gras
Saratoga Restaurants Cajun Cooking Competition & Tasting Festival
at downtown Saratoga Springs area restaurants
1pm - 5pm

2008 Winners:

  • Best Gumbo - Grey Gelding
  • Best Main dish - Parting Glass
  • Best Dessert - Parting Glass
  • Best (Waveland, MS inspired) Hurricane Cocktail - Gotchya's

2008 Participating Restaurants - Bailey's Café, Cantina, Chez Sophie, Circus Café, Esperanto, Gaffney’s, Grey Gelding, Gotchya's, Legend's Cafe, Mare, One Caroline, Parting Glass, Putnam Market, Sperry's, Virgil's, Wheatfields, and Cajun Samples by Black Diamond Catering at Rena’s Fine Flowers.

Revelers will experience a taste of Mardi Gras. Participating Saratoga restaurants will each prepare an inspired Mardi Gras Cajun or Creole dish such as Gumbo, Jambalaya, Etouffee or baked item/dessert like Beignet, Gateau de sirop, Pecan Praline Bread Pudding. Each for a serving price of $1.00.

For just the adults a ‘Waveland’ Hurricane cocktail will also be offered.

Diners will vote for the BEST in the following categories:

  • Best Gumbo
  • Best Main dish
  • Best Dessert
  • Best (Waveland, MS inspired) Hurricane Cocktail
